Who am I?
Well, I never realized how hard this question is until I actually tried to answer it.
I am first a Christian wife to a hardworking and devoted husband, and a mother to four beautiful kids who I love more than life itself. These are my people! They get me. They make my world go round! My crazy, hectic, chaotic world. Sometimes I can’t even remember who I was before, and that’s ok.
I am the mom who takes all 4 of my kids to the grocery store, despite the crazy looks and comments of “Are ALL those yours?” or “Don’t you know what causes that?” because that is real life. My husband works long hours, and I work full-time away from home. When I leave my day job, though, my REAL job starts. You know the one where you run a household, cook, clean, do laundry, pay bills, go to church, buy groceries, run errands, take everyone to practice, play with the kids, be a wife and mother….the list goes on.
I’m also a procrastinator by nature, and this quality does not mesh well with the above mentioned list.
By the end of most days, I am exhausted, frustrated, and overwhelmed. Honestly, some days I have to dig deep to muster up the energy to get through to bedtime.
I am also very thankful that God has chosen me to do this life with these little humans of mine.
I am a Registered Nurse, currently working in public health at a job I love. I graduated nursing school in 2005 with my BSN. I have always had the desire to help people. I know it sounds so cliche, but it’s the truth.
I created this blog to help myself and other moms just like me who often feel overwhelmed with the daily tasks that we are faced with. Like it’s not enough to hold down a job and raise kids to be decent human beings, we also have all the daunting tasks of keeping a household running. Sometimes it gets completely overwhelming!
From budgeting and finance to cleaning, organization, meal planning, and everything in between, Overwhelmed Mama is a place where all moms can come, specifically working moms, to find a place of community as well as some helpful tools to help navigate the often impossible task of keeping it all together.
So this blog was born out of the need to get it all together. It really has helped me with my own accountability. To be honest, most of the frustration and overwhelm comes from a simple lack of planning and organization. I am on a mission to mom smarter, not harder. I also hope to one day make a little income from my blog that would help speed up my journey to financial freedom!
I hope if you are in the same boat as me, you will stay tuned for all the great things in store. I will share with you how you, too, can break free from the feeling of putting out fires all day, and become able to feel contentment and peace in your home. We all have the same desire to create peaceful, loving homes that our children are able to thrive in, and I believe it is inside everyone of us to make that happen!
